DESCRIPTION

Amaze yourself on this one-day tour including the best kept secrets of Portugal’s western coast. Our routes include dazzling vistas of the most picturesque and ancient coastal villages as well as the most iconic monuments from the 18th century.
We start with the most renown fishing villages and beaches of Ericeira, Santa Cruz and Ribeira d’Ilhas, known for their mesmerizing ridges and exceptional conditions for water sports such as surf and bodyboarding. Head inland to lose yourself in the history-filled Palace-Convent of Mafra; the most significant Baroque-style monument in Portugal. Built between 1717 and 1750 the construction counts several great marks of which we emphasize the Royal Palace, the Franciscan Convent, the Library which houses over 40,000 books, as well as the two carillons with 92 bells and the one of a kind set of 6 organs.

Follow that up with a typical Portuguese lunch at one of the many restaurants on offer and discover two of the most astonishing views over the ocean from Azenhas do Mar and Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point in the European continent. Before heading back to Lisbon we’ll take you to uncover the exceptionally well maintained and pleasant old fishing village of Cascais with its marina and bay sitting just where the Tejo river meets the Atlantic, following on to the famed area of Estoril, known to the European elites for having the continent’s largest casino, several luxury hotels and for having been a refuge for spies and secret agents during WWII. Finally, after delighting in the famous local pastries marvel at the views on your return to Lisbon along Portugal’s most iconic road, just alongside the waterfront as ocean turns to river and you head back upstream.
